New to Calgary, Hip Image is a high-tech digital photo booth revolution on wheels that delivers instant photos and groovy times inside a restored 1972 VW bus, lovingly called “Buttercup”.
Buttercup may be vintage VW, but the photo booth is totally modern, built right into the bus. Prints captured on a DSLR camera are developed within seconds. Guests can instantly share good times via a WiFi enabled social media station— on-the-spot, live at events.
With a background in photography, events and PR, photographer Monique de St. Croix of Unique Perspectives Photography (UPP Image) and Jo Williams of Not Your Average Jo Communications came together to launch good times and create photographic memories in the VW bus.
“We’ve combined our love for the vintage VW, fresh ideas for events and a passion for photography to bring you Calgary’s most memorable photo booth experience,” says Jo Williams, partner. “The response so far has been fantastic–people are magnetically drawn to the bus and the concept.”
“The sky is the limit when it comes to creativity and how much fun we can bring to events,” says Monique de St. Croix, partner. “Whether it’s a corporate event, community party, grand opening, birthday party or wedding, this bus allows us to dial up the ‘wow’ factor. There is something nostalgic, too, about settling into our bus. It is just so cool.”
